LO2 - Legal and ethical
Since my website includes an online shop it is important to protect the data of those using the shop. Security is required to protect the data of those using the online shop something that could help to protect peoples information is SSL (Secure sockets layer) It is typically used for email clients to create a secure link between the server and the user so that no one else can access the information on the page. SSL allows information such as login details and credit card numbers to be transferred securely.
In terms of copyright, I don't think that anyhthing I have used on my website needs permission to use as the images I used on the site I took myself and the Small Machines logo was given to me by the owner.
In terms of revenue I think that the site could make more money if toy shops and places that might stock small machines products were allowed to advertise on the website, this would allow the website to make more money from those advertisments. Places like 'The Entrtainer' toy shop on the moor or even bigger places like 'Toys are us' could advertise on the site.

LO2 - Audience
The target audience of the small machines website would be mostly parents, as they would go to the website in order to buy toys for their children. However I think that children would also visit the website to look at toys that they want. They would be in ABC1 as they would need some disposable income to spend on toys.
LO2 - Purpose
The purpose of a website for a toy shop seems to be, to advertise the products that are available from the shop. It also is so that the user can find a specific toy from the shop. I can see this from looking at Hasbro toys website. It can also let the user go through different types of toy, for example toys for boys or toys for girls. However this would most likely not apply to a small machines website. The website also allows the user to buy different poducts off of the website.
LO2 - Starter
I have chosen to make a website for small machines so the website could include:
- Contact information
- A list of products you can buy
- Adress for the companies shop/Position on google maps
- Photos of products

Benefits - The benefits for the producers of YouTube are that YouTube plays advertisements before every video that gets YouTube money. The benefits for the user is that YouTube is entirely free.
Content - The content on the YouTube homepage has clearly changed a lot since 2005. As you can see YouTube was a dating site back in 2005 and changed into the V.O.D site that we know today later on. The only thing that does not appear to have changed is the logo. The large white space on the image above would be filled with profiles I assume. Whereas now the homepage is filled with recommended videos and different tabs that allow you to view different types of video (Sports, Music, Gaming etc.)

The list of stories looks different in that on the 99 site it is a column and on the present day site it has big news stories as a row along the top with smaller stories going in columns down to the bottom of the page. It also has video stories in a column down the right side of the page. LO1-Understand a range of contrasting commercial websites
